Baker College - Medical Transcription Program
I went to Baker College in 2007 for the medical transcription program. After a few months I heard that medical information was being sent to India for transcription because it was cheaper.
I went to see my counselor Amy Savage who guaranteed I would be able to get an MT job here in the US. After graduating in 2009 I was NOT able to get an MT job. Still to this day, cannot find one. Soon after, I found out that Baker College has deleted the MT program.
They lied to me and took my outrageous amount of money for a program that was going to be obsolete. I have over $26,000 for student loans for a CERTIFICATION program that required me to take many unnecessary classes. Baker claims 98% of graduates are employed. More lies!
There are many of us MT graduates that are not working as MTs. Being employed at McDonalds shouldn't count towards Bakers 98% employment rate. My student loans just keep getting higher and higher because I cannot pay them and Navient keeps putting them in forbearance.
I'll never get these paid off. I wish Baker College would've been honest with me about the MT program so I could've taken different classes.
Baker College Pros: Let me register with no high school diploma.
Baker College Cons: Internship they chose for me was not an approved one.
